Ghillie asked for some blogging tips, so here they are!
from Jess, aesthetics expert:
"Always try to make your blog be pretty, but not overdone. Choose a colour scheme and don't do something like putting neon green with brick red on a black background ;).
If you want a picture as your header, don't make it too big. Put the subject of the picture--a bowl of doll cakes, a doll, or doll eyes--in the left or right third of the picture and leave the rest for your title."
from Mari, writer:
"Don't make your posts gargantuan, but they don't have to be uber-short. Try to share your views without making them rude to other peoples.
Make a list of all your dolls somewhere, and a bit about their personalities, so that new readers can be introduced to them.
Also, be funny! Go comedy! XD"
from Sonali, writer:
"Um, I'm not sure what to say, they kind of said it all...
Actually, one piece of advice: try to make sure that your spelling is correct. Because on one of my friends' websites, her English teacher saw her chatspeak and she got in trouble (kind of a stalker, but still, good spelling is cool)."
So those are the blogging tips! I hope they're useful.

New look for fall
I updated the style and header for a more wintery/autumnal look. What do you think?
Because I'm sick, and I have nothing better to do, I'll share my stories for my favourite AG dolls (that I don't have).
1. Devyn: A tomboyish girl born to well-meaning but negligent parents, Devyn is stuck at her hotel when her family is visiting the tiny French-speaking country of Mount Bleu. There she meets a young graduate student commonly referred to as Lennox and Lennox's pompous professor. Little does Devyn know that her friendship with the older girl will lead to involvement in a dangerous rebellion...
2. Annika: No story as of yet, but I'm thinking Ruthie's rival in the film industry.
3. Marjorie: Blonde, sun-tanned, and rich, Marjorie Penn is your typical California popular girl. But beginning with the surprise arrival of her distant cousin Percival, everything begins to change. A mysterious girl appears and disappears on the beach. A strange robot, made of impossible matter, begins to stalk her. And it's just going to get stranger...

Ze mile!
Today we ran the mile in gym class! Eww. I took 10 minutes and 4 seconds.
Gwen did better, with 8:55 seconds. But she was being timed by another girl, and that girl did way longer (not naming names or times). The other girl didn't talk to Gwen after she heard her time. So Gwen is a bit upset.
By a weird coincidence, Sitara also ran the mile today! She got 9:46, which she says is pretty good. To the track people reading, that is probably bad, but Sitara is not very good at running (neither am I, though).

Yearbook Comittee
I haven't written in forever, but the yearbook comittee has been taking up all my time after school!
We've decided that the theme will be "The Best I Can Be", which basically means that each of us gets a page in the yearbook to talk about something on which we've improved a lot during the school year. Samantha is working on designing the cover, but the inside pages will be light pink for Rose Academy. The cover will probably have the RA crest on it.
Also, Sam is saying that we should have an end-of-the-year gala ball! I think she may be a little ambitious...she saw the story on Lavender Fox (of Pleasantville)'s ball and now she wants to do something like that.

Yearbook Comittee!?!
Ahhh!
I don't know how she did it, but today Mari talked me into joining the school yearbook comittee!! I've never been in an afterschool club before, except for swimming, and Rose Academy is too small of a school to have sports teams.
Apparently, though, there are now enough students that we will have a real yearbook here. Mari organized the effort, along with Sam (they do work together sometimes) and the Princie agreed to let us have the yearbook.
(Princie is Mari's word for principal)
My job will be to edit the yearbook, along with Mari. Sam will do the design, and Jess will help her with the computer stuff since she's only ever used a computer with Sitara's help.
It's scary, but really exciting! The club starts on Monday. We'll discuss concepts; I'll keep you updated!

September 11th Memorial

[flag is a stock photo from ace-clipart.com]
This is not supposed to be a religious or political photo. I try very hard to not show political views on this blog, but I think that anybody can take a moment to remember the human beings who died in this pointless and horrible attack.

New photo!

Summer is almost gone. :) The first day of fall is September 22, 2009.
I haven't been posting a lot because I've been REALLY busy. I mean really, really busy...if you have not been in high school you do not understand.
However, today was the first interesting/good day I had at school, and I actually had time for a pic of Sonali after school (despite the fact that my computer is dying).
Also, the scratches on her face are mostly not scratches, just bright patches and a bit of hair.
